Personalized Physical Therapy
Where does it hurt?
-
Most people will experience low back pain at some point in their lives. I help people with new and chronic low back pain eliminate it and go on with their lives.
-
Issues in the neck often impact the arms and hands as well. Together, we decipher the cause of your problem and get to work solving it.
-
Sometimes the problem lies within the painful joint. Other times, your painful joint may be the victim of posture or movement problems in other parts of the body. You and I work together to figure out the root issue and address it so your legs can carry you where you want to go.
-
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I am trained and experienced in working with people of all ability levels to help you stay as independent and active as possible. Whether it’s simply not feeling right in your body, or you carry a diagnosis such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, or Myelopathy, I have tools that can help!
Feel better on Day 1
Understand the issue and start fixing it immediately
Through conversation and assessment, we answer these four questions:
What’s the problem?
How long will it take to heal?
What should I be doing?
What can you do to help?
THE APPROACH
Addressing Your Needs Through Evidence-Based Techniques:
Manual Therapy
Dry Needling
Myofascial Mobilization
Spinal Mobilization and Manipulation
Active Release & Muscle Energy
Therapeutic Exercise
Whole Body Strengthening
Meaningful Movement
Strength, Power & Coordination Training
PhysioNOLA exists to help active people in and around New Orleans live without reliance on medications, injections, or surgery. I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington and have progressed my education through numerous courses via the Institute of Clinical Excellence, American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, and others. I am board-certified in dry needling, and trained in spinal manipulation and advanced soft tissue mobilization.
I treat a wide range of neuro-musculo-skeletal conditions. Back, neck, shoulder, hip and knee pain are among my most commonly treated conditions. I excel at working with people who have not had success at high-volume clinics that often provide uninspired treatment and exercises you could just get from YouTube. Of course, no therapist can be an expert in every body part or condition, and in these cases I will gladly refer you to a specialized therapist better equipped to meet your needs.
Physical Therapy was a career change for me. Having worked on organic farms and run a farm-to-table business, I incorporate knowledge of nature and nutrition to create a holistic practice. Originally from Seattle, I thrive in New Orleans, building community, celebrating the cultures of this place and being a good neighbor in these trying times. When not treating patients or continuing my education, I can be found practicing the non-violent martial art of Aikido, riding my bike around town, and cooking elaborate meals with friends and family.
Get What You Pay For
With self-pay PT, you end up spending less overall and getting better care:
Mainstream clinics bill insurance at a higher rate, and that cost gets passed to you until your deductible is met.
If your insurance plan has great PT benefits, they’ll reimburse you for my services when you submit the “superbill” receipt I provide.
At PhysioNOLA, you get a better experience and faster results:
Every minute of your visit consists of undivided attention from a Doctor of Physical Therapy providing hands-on techniques in a private healing setting.
